Obituary

Bruce A. Epperson, 73 left this earthly realm to be with his Heavenly Father and Jesus, his Savior, and reunite with other family members now in Heaven, July 19, 2023. Bruce was born in December of 1949 to JR and Rosella Epperson in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the second of seven children. His family moved to Oklahoma when he was a teen and continued to live in Oklahoma until 1992. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his older brother, Wayne Epperson. Bruce married Geneva A. Kern in 1979. They enjoyed an exceptionally loving relationship and mutually adored each other. They attended church regularly for most of their marriage and were members of Cornerstone Church. He recently gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized January 1, 2023, by Reverend Bobby Scobey his pastor and friend. In recent months, Pastor Nork, associate pastor has been quite a blessing. He retired from Byron Carson Company and was employed at EGS/Appleton Electric more than twenty years. Bruce was a very loving husband and father, had a great personality and sense of humor, was smart, caring and kind-hearted. He enjoyed reading and listening to a variety of music, playing many types of games including Racquetball, but his all-time favorite was golf. He especially enjoyed playing golf with his golfing buddies and his son, Chad. In addition to his wife of 43 years, Geneva, he is survived by his very loving and caring sons Jerry and Chad, and families; two brothers, Steve and David; three sisters, Peggy, Kathy and Sheryl, and their families; his nieces and nephews; and Lane King, whom Bruce referred to as his "son in the Lord". Bruce was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all of his family and many good friends, several who are like family. Visitation will be Thursday, July 27, 2023 beginning at 1:30 p.m. with funeral service to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Church, 2385 Whitten Road, Memphis. Bruce's final resting place will be in Tuttle, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held there.
