IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Michael
Sigler
May 9, 1955 – January 9, 2023
Charles Michael Sigler of Bartlett, TN passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, January 9th 2023. Mike was born in Memphis, TN to parents Ruby and James Sigler. He attended East High School, then "transferred" to OEP after being politely asked to leave East High School. He went on to graduate from OEP and subsequently graduate from Memphis Academy of Art with a degree in Photography. He briefly used his degree to be a freelance photographer, mostly shooting weddings. He began purchasing houses to resell, then bought a used car lot, then started a video car advertising company, then opened a car rental agency. He retired from his car rental agency in 2020, having never technically had a job in his life, as he frequently pointed out. Mike went on his first date with Debbie Carter in December of 1977. He took her to see Young Frankenstein at the Raleigh Springs Mall. They went on to get married in the living room of his parents' midtown home in July of 1980. Mike and Debbie had their first son, Mikel, in May of 1982, followed by another son, Casey, in March of 1986. Debbie worked alongside Mike in all of his business ventures, resulting in them spending effectively all day every day together for over 40 years. She was holding his hand as he passed away. Mike will be remembered as a kind and generous person who could always make you laugh. He was intelligent and witty and always quick with a joke. He was delightfully unusual, and acutely aware of it. There will never be anyone else quite like him, and he will be dearly missed. Mike was preceded in death by his mother Ruby and his father James. He is survived by his wife Debbie, his sons Mikel and Casey, and his grandchildren Ava, Owen, and Anderson. He will be buried at Bartlett-Ellendale cemetery
