Dennis Wayne Echols, age 73, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, in the city of Memphis.
Born on February 26, 1953, in Memphis, Tennessee, Dennis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was defined by his faith, patriotism, and love for family. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Dennis served his country with honor and carried that same spirit of service throughout his life.
Following his military service, Dennis dedicated many years to working for the Shelby County Division of Corrections.
Outside of work, Dennis embraced life with enthusiasm and passion. He enjoyed spending time fishing, had an appreciation for Corvettes, and loved flying his drones. Above all, Dennis was a lover of God and the United States, values that guided him throughout his life and left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Dennis is survived by his beloved bride, Deborah; his daughter, Stacey (Jim) Alexander; his son, Jordan (Kelley) Echols; his daughter, Katherine (Lofton) Pillow; his stepsons, Chris (Sarah) Carter and Scott (Julie) Carter; and his daughter-in-law Andee Echols; his grandchildren, Christian, Ashley, Caden, Riley, Avery, Georgia Kate, and Hallie Brooke, Kevin and Joe; his four great-grandchildren; his brothers, Al (Carmen) Echols and Stan (Tina) Fowler and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bertis Echols and Patsy Fowler and his step-father Woodrow Fowler; his brother, Randy; and his son, Jeremy.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dennis's life Saturday June 20th at Harmony Church of Bartlett, 6740 St. Elmo Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38135. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by his memorial service at 12:00 noon.
