Douglas Russell Boyles,70 passed away December 20, 2024.  He was born January 8, 1954 in Gastonia, North Carolina to Alfred and Katheryn Boyles. In addition to his parents, Doug is preceded in death by wife, Glynnis, his father-in-law Glen Griffin, and his stepson Jason Gean.

He is survived by his sister, Rena (Billy) Halk, his nephew and god-son Will Halk; his granddaughter, Madison Gean; his mother-in-law Virginia Griffin and other extended family, friends and neighbors who were very dear to Doug.  He was a mechanical engineer and over the years he was employed at numerous firms including Kimberly-Clark, Purina and Ring Container. Doug enjoyed sports, horse racing and spending time on the beach frequently visiting Gulf Shores with his wife, Glynnis.  They especially enjoyed the Shrimp Festival. Memorials are welcome at Puett Chapel Church, 3009 Puett Chapel Church Road, Dallas, North Carolina 28034.  Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025 followed by a 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service at Harmony Church of Bartlett, 6740 St. Elmo Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38135.
