Ernest L. "Ernie" Moore, Jr. passed away Sunday, September 22, 2024 at his home in Memphis, Tennessee.  He was born May 13, 1954 in Paris, Tennessee and was lovingly adopted as an infant by Lois and Ernest L. Moore, Sr. He had lived in Memphis since 1964.  After graduation from Woodale High School he served in the U.S. Marine Corps.  A very diverse man, Ernie was a cross-country truck driver, served as a bailiff in the Juvenile Court in Memphis and as a prison guard at the Shelby County Penal Farm.  He was also a driver for the United States Postal Service until  his retirement. Ernie was a family man, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, eating out with his family and sharing stories from his days in the military with his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed the world of CB radio operators. He communicated with other CB radio operators around the world. His "handle" was Big E. Ernie is survived by his daughter, Amber Moore, two grandchildren Dedrick (aka Dejay) and Sky Fields of Memphis, Tennessee ; two stepsons, Brian Stewart of Nashville, Tennessee and Timothy Akins of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and one sister, Margaret McCaa (Clifford) of Progreso, Yucatan.
