Garrison Bass, 35, of Bartlett, Tennessee, died unexpectedly on September 3, 2023, when he was struck by a hit-n-run driver as he crossed Summer Avenue. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee October 1, 1987. Garrison was the only son of George William "Bill" Bass, Jr. and Victoria Young Bass of Bartlett. He attended Southwest Tennessee Community College and William R. Moore Technology Institute.
Garrison was employed as a security enforcer at a local nightclub. He was much beloved by his coworkers and management. He was an avid music lover and played drums. He loved animals and brought home many stray kittens over the years, the most recent being a tan tabby kitten he found in the parking lot of his place of employment a few weeks before his death which he named Jack. Garrison was a good friend to many, many people. He was extremely funny and was known to create some great memes under the name of his alter ego "Harrison Trout" on Facebook.
Garrison is survived by his mother, Vicki Young Bass, his sister, Daphne Vogel (Seth) Bradick, of Bartlett, stepbrother, Ryan Thomson, of Denton, Texas, grandfather, Don F. Young, Sr. and his aunt, Lisa Young, of Hickory Withe, Tennessee; his two nieces, Haley Hector and Autumn Bradick, and his nephew, William Bradick, all of Bartlett. He is also survived by his aunt, Margaret "Peggy" Bass (David) Johnston of Huntsville, Alabama, and their three sons, Phil, Chris and Dan; his uncle Steve Bass and his son, Brian Jeffrey "BJ" Bass of Ocala, Florida; uncle Don (Tinia) Young, Jr. of Huntsville, Alabama; his cousins Cody Young, his son Jon (Maxi) Young and their children, Marcy and Freyja, Kurstyn, Owen, and Corbin Stanley; Alexis (James) Earp and their daughter Bentley.
In addition to his father, George William "Bill" Bass, Jr., he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Thomson, and his grandparents Juanita Young and George and Jimmie Bass.
A celebration of life will be held 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2023, at City Hall Night
Club, 7955 Fischer Steele Rd., Cordova, Tennessee 38018.
