Staff Sergeant (Retired) George Edward White Jr. went to be with the Lord in the early hours of December 17th 2020. He was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee on July 21, 1955 to Dorothy James White and George Edward White Sr. George joined the army in 1972 at the age of 17 where he earned his GED and proudly served his country for 20 years before retiring in 1992. He met and married the love of his life, Bernadette Marie Broderick White in 1978. They had 42 wonderful years together before he was called home. George holds a Masters degree in social work specializing in helping veterans, that he obtained at the illustrious age of 60 years young. After obtaining his Masters Degree, and volunteering with a several Veterans programs, George found his calling, with his beloved wife, at Yale Road Learning Center working with the Schoolagers. He was a well loved employee by teachers, parents, and children alike. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, wise and compassionate advice, or a joke and a smile to cheer up someone's day. George was the king of dad jokes, loved a great story, and was always there for his family, in good times or bad. He was a rock for Bernadette and their five children, a provider, the hardest worker, and more notably, a partner in crime for his 30 grandchildren, of which he was immensely proud.

George is survived by his loving wife Bernadette and their 5 children; Rachel Henninger of Maryland Heights, Missouri; Bernadette (Randall) White-Richards of Bon Aqua, Tennessee; Melody (Kurtis) Lynne of Woodstock, Illinois; Colleen (JL) White-Milton of Bartlett, Tennessee; and George (Heidi) White III of White Bluff, Tennessee; and his ever loyal service dog Lucy, as well as 30 grandchildren; Carli, Mariah (Tevelle), Sadie, Mia, Falon, Alonna, Brooklin , Brayden, Ryley, Rexley, Mason (Lauren), Madelyne, Maverick, Ellie, Piper, Levi, Canaan, Scout, Olive, Boaz, Genesis, Gypsie, Gemini, JL Treyler, JL Traktor, JL Trayne, JL Traxx, McKenna, George IV, Lucca, and 3 great grand children, Madesyn, Oaklynn and Gianna (due June 2021). He is survived by his parents George and Dorothy White, brothers Kevin White and Christopher White and sister Dawn White. He is proceeded in death by 3 grandchildren JL Tristian, Ami, and Gericho.

George leaves behind a towering legacy of pride in family, hard work and perseverance, love, laughter and living in the moment. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, his 5 children, 33 grandchildren and great grandchildren, and the staff, children and parents of Yale Road Learning Center.
