Gil Allen Kohn
, 79, passed away with his family present December 10, 2020 at his home in Bartlett, Tennessee.He was born January 15, 1941 in Hinsdale, Illinois, the son of Raymond and Dena Zotter Kohn. Gil graduated from Leyden High School in 1959 and attended Chicago School of Art. He retired from a long career in the Printing and Graphic Arts Industry. He was Vice President of Memphis Engraving and Vice President of Quality Control at Graphic Arts. He celebrated 56 years of marriage in June 2019 to the love of his life, Sara Nell Kohn. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his family with all his heart and would do anything for them. He enjoyed hobbies such as playing pool, fishing, and watching Notre Dame Football.
He was predeceased by his wife Sara Nell, his parents Ray and Dena Kohn; brother, Karl Kohn, his grandson Eddie McDonald, brother-in-law Harry Edwards (Katherine Ann), and his sisters-in-law Bridget Mack (Eddie), Mary Catherine Costello (Barney). Surviving are his son Ben Kohn (Bridget), and his daughter Dena McDonald (Chris), brother-in-law Tommy Edwards (Sarah), his brother Ray Kohn(Tina), sister-in-law, Marie Kohn, and grandchildren Michael McDonald (Victoria), John McDonald (Madison), Sarah Danielle Carroll (Pete Jude), his great-grandchildren Rylee Gene McDonald and Paxton Edward McDonald and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
