IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Howard
Swaim, Jr.
July 29, 1950 – November 6, 2025
James Howard Swaim, Jr., 75, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on November 6, 2025. Jim was born on July 29, 1950, in Memphis to the late Howard and Martha (Bland) Swaim. He and his sisters grew up in the community of Forest Hill, Tennessee (now Germantown). Following his graduation from Germantown High School, Jim attended Freed-Hardeman College.
Jim was known for his kindness, strong work ethic and unwavering dedication. He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Memphis after 34 years of service, where he earned a reputation as a dependable and respected employee.
Above all, Jim was deeply passionate about his family. He cherished the time spent with his sons, Jay and Kirby, and took pride in their lives. Jim also had a deep love for sports, particularly the University of Memphis Tigers. He was a devoted fan and was always eager to share his enthusiasm for the team with those around him. His love for Memphis, sports, and the Tigers will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sisters, Jane Keough, Sue Hughes, and Lynda King.
Jim is survived by his sons, Jay Swaim and Kirby Swaim, both of Bartlett, Tennessee, as well as several nieces and nephews, all of whom will greatly miss him.
A celebration of life for Jim will be held at later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Jim's honor.
