JAN NIXON, 63 passed away October 9, 2023.  She was born July 09, 1960 in Caugha Falls, Ohio to Alvin and Judy Wilkins Shipp.  Jan was a teacher in Shelby County Elementary Schools almost thirty years.  She taught fourth grade the majority of her teaching years at Chimney Rock Elementary School in Cordova, Tennessee.  She greatly enjoyed hearing from former students over the years sharing their life accomplishments. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Tara Nixon, and her younger brother, Allen Shipp.  She is survived by her husband of 28years, Brett Baker; her parents, Judy Wilkins and Alvin Shipp; her son, Chad Nixon, her brother Steve Shipp and three grandsons, Dylan, Noah and Logan. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
