Janie Louise Smith, 74, passed away May 27, 2024, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born July 1, 1949 in Memphis, TN, daughter of the late John Boone and Charlotte Louise Tuck Lassiter. She was united in marriage with the late Dennis Eugene Smith July 5, 1968. She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter Beth White and her son Douglas Smith. She is survived by her daughters Dr. Teresa Harris and her husband Shelby of Oklahoma City, OK and Ms. Jennifer Rinks of Savannah, TN; her sister Charlotte Ann Wallace of Jackson, TN; her brother-in-law Dr. Tony Smith and and her nephew Jac Eskridge-Smith; her grandsons Daryl Wayne White II and his wife Casey White; Dylon Smith; Cameron Rinks Jr. and Caden and Ian Harris; her granddaughters Jessica and Josie Bass, Shyenne Rinks; her great-granddaughters Penelope White, Coraline Simmons; and her great-grandson Thomas Simmons.

Mrs. Smith spent her life raising the many children who were brought into her home and who were lucky enough to call her mom and/or nanny. A remembrance will be held at a later time with close family. In lieu of any gifts or flowers, contributions to Faith Baptist Church, (3755 N.
