John Richard Klaus of Bartlett, TN, 58 died peacefully in his sleep on November 27, 2022. John was born July 16, 1964 to Delbert Klaus and Sandra Phelps.  He proudly served as a medic in the US Army 3 years. He retired from Hunter Fan Company as a mechanical engineer.  John was active in both his son's SYS football leagues.  He was also active in the Knights of Columbus and taught PRE at St Ann Catholic Church.  He volunteered at St Ann for years with the Easter Vigil Reception and the Halloween Alternative Carnival.  John is preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Phelps Starnader.  In addition to his wife of 21 years, Mary Anne Kelley, he is survived by his father, Delbert (Barbara) Klaus; his children, Zachary (Christina) Klaus, Thomas Klaus, Victoria Kelley and Katie Kelley Dees; his sister, Lisa (Larry) Wilson and brother, Scott (Jessica) Klaus.  He was a proud Poppy to Savannah Dees, Cody Dees, Eva Bridge and Oliver Klaus.  He also leaves behind a beloved furbaby, Portia.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022 until Service time at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Ann Catholic Church, Bartlett.  The family requests memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.  John's final resting place will be in the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
