On Friday March 5, 2021, Martha Wiley Eberhart, passed away in Memphis, TN at the age of 85. Martha was born on July 19,1935 in Tampa, FL to Reverend Glen Eric and Mattie Wiley.  She grew up in Grenada, MS where her father was the pastor of First Baptist Church.  She received a Bachelors Degree in Journalism from Baylor University in 1957 and worked in TV/Radio advertising and advertising agencies for many years.  In 1979 Martha made a complete career change and began working for IDS Financial Services, now known as Ameriprise Financial. In 1984 she became the first female Certified Financial Planner in this region of the country.  Over the years she built her own Ameriprise practice of Eberhart and Associates.  She retired in 2004. Martha married Francis Eberhart in 1981 and they enjoyed traveling the country and to other places around the world.  They especially enjoyed spending time at the beach in Crystal Beach, TX.  That was truly her happy place! Martha was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and sang in the choir for over 65 years.  Being in the choir loft and participating in all the musical performances was a joy for her. She loved singing and praising her Lord!  Martha loved to sew and needlepoint and dabbled in watercolor painting at times.  She was an avid collector of English Royal Doulton and Wedgewood.  Martha loved to entertain friends and family and many times opened her home to long term guests. She had a very giving spirit and was always eager to help others. Martha was preceded in death by her father, Glen Eric, her mother, Martha Belle, and her husband Francis Eberhart. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Pulliam of Olive Branch, MS, her son David Laney of Maryville, TN, her step-daughter Frances Cox of Forrest City, AR and 4 grandsons – Landry and Cliff Pulliam and David and William Laney. Flowers are welcome.  However, memorial donations may be sent to the Bellevue Baptist Church Mission Fund.
