Martha Jean (Dobson) Seitz, age 76, of Bartlett, peacefully passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at home with her family by her side.
Martha was born October 9, 1945, at Golden Lake, Arkansas, to Esker Leon and Fannie Maude (Derrick) Dobson. She was a bookkeeper at the First National Bank of Osceola for 17 years before serving as the vice president of bookkeeping for Bank of Bartlett for 33 years. She was a 1963 graduate of Wilson High School in Wilson, Arkansas. She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed cooking, fishing, cheering on the Memphis Tigers, and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Jon Mark; two daughters, Katherine Michelle "Miki"(Seitz) Bryant of Bartlett, and Kelli Deann (Seitz) Edmonds and her husband, John, of Senatobia, Mississippi; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Kristin Seitz of Cordova; two sisters, Annette (Dobson) Petras of Marietta, Georgia, and Patsy (Dobson) Cain and her husband, Edward, of Marion, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren, Jonathan Bryant, Latricia Alysse Bryant, Jeremy Bryant, Billie Anne Bryant, Emalee (Edmonds) New, Dannie Edmonds, Chandler Edmonds, Zoe Edmonds, Molly Edmonds, Joshua "Joe" Edmonds, Nicholas Edmonds, Jacob Chandler, and Hannah Chandler, as well as 10 beautiful great-grandchildren and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristi Lynn (Seitz) Chandler; siblings, Nadine (Dobson) Spain, Willie S. Dobson, Dorothy (Dobson) Boothe, Joyce (Dobson) Meyer, Elmer "Joey" Dobson, Carolyn (Dobson) Fletcher, and Esker Lemuel Dobson. The family is thankful for the blessed assurance of Heaven through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, so they too can be reunited with their loved ones.
A service celebrating Martha's life will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022, at the Harmony Church of Bartlett, with Pastor Mark Oliver officiating. The family will receive friends immediately preceding the memorial service at 4 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Bartlett-Heritage Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers are Mark Seitz, Jonathan Bryant, Jeremy Bryant, John Edmonds, and John Chandler.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Lupus Foundation of America, or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
