IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maureen
Frazier
April 25, 1946 – October 2, 2022
Maureen Valerie Frazier (nee Siler) passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of October 2, 2022, at her home in Germantown, Tennessee. Born in Los Angeles, California, on April 25, 1946, she was raised in the Los Alamitos/Anaheim area of Southern California. There she attended Orangeview Junior High, and Western High School (class of 1963), where she was a member of the National Scholarship Society. She received her BA in Journalism from California State University, Long Beach, in 1983, and was a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. In 1971, she joined the Long Beach Press Telegram, where she worked as a reporter and journalist, covering local events and noted individuals. She then transferred to the City of Lakewood public affairs department, where she managed community relations for the city. She later worked as an entertainment publicist for Nancy Hamilton & Associates in Los Angeles, where she managed a client list that included actors Alan Alda, Donna Mills, Courtney Cox, Shannen Doherty, and singer/songwriter and Academy Award-nominee Stephen Bishop, with whom she attended the 58th Academy Awards in 1986. Later in her career, she served as the community affairs manager for the City of Buena Park and received numerous awards and commendations until she retired in 2007, after completing 10 years of service. She was lovingly referred to as "Punkie" by her family.
Maureen was hilariously funny, accomplished, and quite a fashionista. A voracious reader and history buff, she loved "old Hollywood" history and was an avid collector of rare books, magazine, and movie memorabilia.
In 2019, Maureen and Norris, her husband of almost 50 years, decided to move to Germantown, TN after attending a family wedding and falling in love with the city.
Maureen was preceded in death by her loving parents, A.D. and Jean V. Siler, her half-sister Marianne Bailey, and her husband, Norris L. Frazier, who passed away last year. She is survived by her dear cousin, Kay Siler Littleton (Wayne), and her friend and "daughter" Kristina Mason.
