Marion (Mike) Michael Ames, 73, of Bartlett, TN passed away on June 14, 2022, at Saint Francis Hospital. He was born in Portageville, MO to the late William Herbert Ames and Mary Christine Foster. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Phillip Ames and his loving wife Sally Lannom Ames. Mike is survived by his and Sally's daughters; Kimberly Ames and Christina Connable, Christina's children Gideon, Amelia, and Liam, and from a first marriage, daughter Laura Whitfield and her children. Also, his sisters Rhonda Hensel, Marilyn Dial, and half-sisters by W.H. Ames, Connie Hasting and Tina Clark.

Mike was a graduate of Hayti High School in MO before attending Southern Baptist College in AR, during which time he was called to service. After his service in Vietnam, Mike followed a friend's suggestion to be an electrician and excelled in his career, traveling across mostly the south and forming friendships. While residing in Memphis he met Sally and they were married in 1981. After her passing he remained in the Memphis area to raise his little girls centrally located to both sides of the family. In later years he was involved with the IBEW and local credit union. In his retirement he enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and doting on his grandchildren.
