Patricia M. Foster, 96, peacefully passed away at home on December 4, 2024, after a short illness. Patricia Frances Murphy was born in Ontario, Canada on October 10, 1928, to Ernest Joseph Murphy and Alleyne Alexander Murphy. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi, where she and her brother, Joseph Kelly Murphy were raised. Though she lived in Memphis for most of her adult life, she remained proud of her Mississippi Delta roots. Patricia raised a family while working full-time for the Federal Aviation Administration and taking care of her first husband, Joe, who died too young. Many years later, she found love again with her second husband, Jerry. Patricia and Jerry retired together after successful careers with the FAA, built their dream home in Huntingdon, Tennessee, and traveled around the United States, having adventures while visiting family and friends. Patricia was proud to become a United States citizen while in her seventies.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, two husbands, Joseph Fisher and Jerry Foster, her two sons, Michael Fisher and Patrick Fisher, her great-granddaughter, Katryn R. Fisher, and many of her lifelong friends.

She is survived by her beloved granddaughter, Shelly Fisher (Margaret), her grandson Shawn Fisher (Shauna), great-grandson, Jacob Fisher (Hannah), great-great granddaughter, Violet Katryn Fisher, her stepchildren and their families in New York, other family members and her friends.

She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, sense of humor, wisdom, and her love of life and all things fun. She was the life of the party, and her toasts will be sorely missed. With great appreciation her family thanks Henry Miles and Kathy Lyon, her dear friends and companions, as well as her other dedicated caregivers from Comfort Keepers.

Friends are welcome to join Patricia's family at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024 for visitation and a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. at Harmony Church of Bartlett, 6740 St. Elmo Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38135.
