Our hearts are broken for the sudden and unexpected loss of our mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother, PEGGY JOAN "MOM" HENSLEY.  Joan passed away October 9, 2022 at the age of 90 (she sure wanted to make it 100).  She was born February 11, 1932 in Nashville, Tennessee.  She is preceded in death by her mother, Martha Hamby, her husband of 63 years, Robert Felix Hensley, her son Bobby Hensley and grandson Bryan Hensley.  Joan lived a very active and fun-filled life.  She enjoyed camping, waterskiing, fishing, tennis and bowling.  Joan was honored to be inducted into the Memphis Amateur Hall of Fame in 2010 for her tennis. This was such a highlight in her life.  Traveling with many friends to the Tiger games was very dear to Joan and Robert, as well as beach time.  Joan loved coaching her daughter Robbie's class of girls in volleyball and basketball through their school years.  She was a great cook especially at the Holidays and had many family and friends gather!!  Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was a true delight!!  Watching them sing, dance and play sports brought her great joy.  Singing, dancing and sports activities… she loved.  Joan leaves to cherish many memories, her daughters, Robbie Weaver (Fred Smith), Donna (Pete) Owens, grandchildren, Courtney Ball (Mandy), Nathan and Hannah Owens, Ashley and Carley Hensley and five great-grandchildren.  Joan was of the Baptist faith and is now reunited with her loved ones. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son , that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."—John 3:16.          There will be a Memorial Gathering of her family to celebrate her life.
