In Loving Memory of Phyllis Ann Bell
November 5th, 1937 - January 12th, 2025
Phyllis Ann Bell, a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, at the age of 87. Born at home in Pond Creek, Ohio on the evening of November 4th, 1937. The following morning, she was taken to the hospital in Portsmouth, Ohio, hence her "official" date of birth is recorded as November 5th. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph J. Montavon and Lena Rebana "Banna" Smith; her beloved husband and eternal dance partner, Gerald "Jerry" Bell; and her son, Richard "Todd" Bell.
Phyllis led a life filled with devotion and care for her family, always ensuring that those around her were taken care of well. She expressed her love through cooking, always ensuring that everyone had plenty of food. Her family often reminisces about her legendary dishes, none of which ever required a written recipe. Phyllis also enjoyed watching various sports, dancing, and occasionally indulging in a trip to play slot machines. Her upbringing on a farm endowed her with a green thumb, allowing her to transform a mere cutting or seedling into a thriving garden.
Phyllis is survived by her sons, Robert "Bryan" Bell (Olivia) and James Gregory "Greg" Bell; her granddaughter, Kelly Bell DeLuca (Tony); her grandsons, Zachary Robert Bell (Kathleen), William McLendon Bell, and Alexander "Bryce" Bell; and her great-grandchildren, Joey DeLuca, Charlie DeLuca, Ellis Bell, and Tate Bell.
A memorial service followed by a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 1st at Restoration Church, 60 East Main Street, Munford, TN, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to ABLE Youth at www.ableyouth.org .
Phyllis Ann Bell's legacy of love, care, and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
