Roy C. “Stevie” Stephenson, Jr. passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, after a valiant battle with esophageal cancer at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Roy Crosby. and Mrs. Marian Turner Stephenson.

Roy was graduated from Jackson Central-Merry High School, Jackson, Tennessee in 1972. He graduated summa cum laude from Lambuth College where he met his spouse, Trish Leathers and made his life-long friends as a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.

Roy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Trish Leathers Stephenson; his children, Thomas (Rebekah), and Will (Whitney) and 5 grandchildren. He delighted in being Dadra to Wyatt, Emilia, Claire, Winston, and Wesley. Roy is also survived by his siblings, Ann Stanfill, Kathy Pope, Sandy (David) Rudd, and Billy (Stacey) Stephenson along with many nieces and nephews.

He began his professional career as an internal auditor with Holiday Inns Corp. In 1994 Roy became the CFO for Wright Investments. After his retirement in 2021, he especially enjoyed golf with the Men’s Golf group of Germantown United Methodist Church and learning the new job of grandparenting.

A celebration and remembrance of Roy’s life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2:00 p.m. in the McVay Gardens of Germantown United Methodist Church, 2331 S. Germantown Rd., Germantown, TN, with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
