Russell
Coker
May 12, 2026
Russell Dean Coker passed away May 12th surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a life defined by devotion, laughter, and the people he loved most.
Russell found peace in the salt air and the sound of the ocean, and few things brought him more joy than fishing. He loved being outdoors and could often be found tinkering with just about anything, always keeping his hands and mind busy. Whether near the water or cheering on Memphis basketball and football, he embraced life with passion and enthusiasm. He also spent many years as a referee, a role that reflected his love of sports.
Above all else, Russell was a family man. Much of his life was spent caring for and supporting his two daughters and his grandchildren, who were the center of his world. His love, guidance, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters, Crystal Via (Terry) and Casey Beaver (Blaine); his sister, Kimber Kauffman; his grandchildren, Johanna Beaver, Elaina Beaver, Abigail Beaver, and Lucas Via; his stepdaughters, Traci Domingo (Michael) and Lindsey Sweet; as well as two step-granddaughters and two step-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Victoria Coker; his parents, John Coker and Dorothy Coker; and his younger brother, John Terrell Coker.
Russell’s memory will live on in every fishing trip, every game day, every project in the garage, and every ocean breeze that reminds his family of the man they loved so dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 20 by invitation.
