IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stuart James
Besner
April 28, 1964 – August 21, 2021
Stuart James Besner was born April 28, 1964, to Joyce Armistead Besner and Burton Besner of Sherman Oaks, California. He graduated North Hollywood High School, class of 1982, where he played football for the Huskies and sang for the Madrigals, an award-winning choral group invited to perform around the world. After graduation, he studied to become an electrician and became a commercial journeyman wireman, eventually joining Local 474 Memphis IBEW. Stuart met and married Kimberly, mother of Kayla and Jacob, and moved to Kimberly's hometown of Memphis, where he lived the rest of his life. In addition to his children, both of Memphis, he is survived by his mother, Joyce Besner of Hemet, CA; brother Gregory Besner of Council Bluffs, IA; brother Eric Besner of New York City; daughter Kathrine Luedecke of St. Joseph, MO; and grandchildren Ryder, Noah, Taryn,Tydus and Vaeda. Stuart was outgoing and gathered many friends from childhood forward. He loved to share life experiences and was a fine storyteller. Nothing pleased him more than having friends over in the yard for BBQ and socializing. He also had tremendous respect for nature and the water. He won Boy Scout badges for canoeing on the Colorado River below Hoover Dam when young, and surfed at Zuma Beach in Malibu as a teen. He loved most of all his family's second home, Mammoth Lakes in the Sierra Nevadas, where he would fish for rainbow trout, ski and hike through the seasons. He will be put to rest finally on that beloved mountain.
