IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Suzanne Watkins
Redick Butler
October 15, 1954 – November 21, 2023
Suzanne Watkins Redick Butler, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on November 21st, 2023, in Bartlett, Tennessee. She was born on October 15th, 1954, in Memphis to the late John Albert Redick and Helen Delores Watkins Redick. Suzanne's life was filled with love and devotion to her family. She attended Wooddale High School where she made lifelong friendships and cherished memories. After graduating high school, Suzanne first pursued a career in banking and worked for several local banks. She ended up lastly at Union Planters where she worked in Portfolio Management where she excelled in her profession. However, it was as a wife and mother that Suzanne truly shone. She married the love of her life Clark Creighton Butler and together they built a beautiful life. As "Mimi" to her grandchildren Aiden Butler McCrum and Alora Grace McCrum Barszcz, Suzanne found even more purpose and fulfillment. Her eyes sparkled whenever they were around; their laughter brought light into her world. Suzanne will be remembered for so much more than just these titles though; she had an indomitable spirit that inspired all who knew her. Even during challenging times when faced with health challenges or personal struggles, Suzanne remained strong-willed – always fighting with grace and dignity. Her kindness knew no bounds; friends often sought comfort from her wise counsel while strangers found solace in the warmth of her smile. Her compassion touched countless lives throughout the years leaving an enduring legacy of love behind. Suzanne's life was filled with love and devotion to her family. She leaves behind her husband of 49 years Clark Creighton Butler, daughter Candice Eliane Butler McCrum (John), grandson Aiden Butler McCrum, granddaughter Alora Grace McCrum Barszcz (Liam), great-grandson Roman Alexander Barszcz, and her siblings Jennifer Redick Chandler Cuthbertson (widow), Millicent Redick Sanders (Don), John Davis Redick (Michelle), and the late Joseph Crocker Redick (Dayonna). Her family will miss her dearly but find solace knowing that heaven has gained another angel watching over them all. Though our hearts ache at the loss of such an extraordinary soul taken too soon from us all – may we find peace knowing that Suzanne's memory will live on through each person whose life she touched. The family kindly requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Suzanne's honor to the American Heart Association.
