Thomas Chan Sit, born August 18, 1936, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 27, 2022 after a short illness. He deeply loved his family, his church family, cooking, bowling and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.

Thomas was born August 18, 1936 in the Guangzhou Province of China. He migrated to the United States at age 11 and spent his childhood in St. Louis, MO and Hughes, AR before moving to Chicago, IL to help with the family restaurants. While going to Hughes Jr. High, he loved playing the drums in the marching band and playing football.

After he married Lai Chun Chiu in 1958, they resided in Chicago until 1959 when they moved to Memphis to help in his wife's family's grocery business. In 1967 the couple opened their own grocery store called Sit and Chew Supermarket. They ran this family business for 35 years serving the Dixie Holmes community.

Thomas is survived by his children-Thomas, Jr., Alice (Kenny) and Dianna-all of Cordova, TN. He also leaves his grandchildren Kristina, Matthew (Rebecca), Joshua, Michael and Andrew. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to: First Chinese Baptist Church, 7555 Macon Road, Cordova, TN 38018.
