Obituary

Winfred Douglas Nash, Jr., husband, father, son, brother, cousin, and friend to all, went to be with our Lord on Friday, August 18, 2023. Doug, also known as "Douglas" or "Little Doug" to his family, was born in Searcy, Arkansas September 25, 1973, the only son of Winfred Douglas Nash, Sr. and Janet Bradford Nash Radford. He attended Bartlett High School and graduated from Raleigh Egypt High School in 1991. Following graduation, Doug worked in the Transportation and Logistics Industry. Doug loved life and enjoyed many things during his lifetime, but his passion was sports. He especially enjoyed watching University of Memphis "Tiger" Basketball, where he was a self-proclaimed expert, speaking with anyone he could about the latest news on the Tigers. He volunteered his free time over the years to coach youth sports. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing with friends. His heart was most content, though, when watching his daughters play and participate in their sporting activities. He loved to watch Madelyn play lacrosse, run cross country and Emma during her karate and dance competitions. Doug and and his wife Jen have shared a lifetime together, beginning as best friends during childhood. They began officially dating in 2011, and even though Doug liked to frequently point out that Jen was older than he was (just by a few months but he enjoyed pointing it out), they married in 2015. Doug is lovingly remembered by his wife Jennifer (Jen), his two daughters Madelyn and Emma, his father, Doug Nash, Sr. (Virginia), sister, Deidra Wiener (Don), nieces, Marilyn and Morgan Wiener, his father-in-law, Michael Crumby Sr., and brother-in-law, Michael Crumby Jr., his half-sister, Melita Ellington (Brian), his step siblings, Mike Radford (Stephanie), Peggy Davies, Tracy Chibbaro (Brian), numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved canine companions Belle and Bear.  He was preceded in death by his mother Janet Radford, his stepfather, Bubba Radford, his mother-in-law, Patricia Crumby, and his grandparents, Sherard and Lula Mae Nash and Kay and Maudie Bradford.

Doug's family requests plants be sent to honor him in lieu of flowers.  Doug cherished and loved looking at the plants he received when his mother passed away.  His family would appreciate plants to share with friends and family to honor him.
